The career action plan can evolve into a life long learning partnership
between clients, Community Careers, colleges, universities and employers to offer assistance in innovative ways that
increase our clients prospects in the labour market, in line with EU
recommendations.

Life Long Learning
Life Long Learning is an
important part of the Careers Action Plan that Community Careers
will develop with individual clients, or with the staff of our Corporate
clients.
By combining learning with work, the client will remain
constantly re-skilled for better career prospects and job retention.
Community Careers will work with each Life Long Learning
partner to develop individual training and career action plans. Action
planning is continued with each participant individually, in one to
one career action-planning sessions. The targeted output of such meetings
is an agreement on (the contents of each individual’ career action
plan).
The Centre’s subsequent commitment to the individual
is to help him or her achieve the plan; helping in whatever way is needed.
This includes locating and helping to apply for training, arranging
work placement and work experience, and, when the client is ready, helping
in the search for employment.
Clients’ progress is monitored thereafter. Each client
is invited at least quarterly for further career review meetings. The
career review meeting is to monitor the progress, changed circumstances,
and any help needed.
We also follow up our clients on a monthly basis to find out if their situation has changed, and eventually to invite them back to the centre, so that they can be successful in getting a job.
